Prayers and Offerings to Guan Gong

Please be informed TDSPJ will be conducting Prayers and Offerings to Guan Gong (In Tibetan: Jalha ) on Thursday 13th Aug, 2020 at 10am by Rev Lama Lodro and members of the committee on behalf of TDSPJ.

In 2006, H.E Rev Hai Tao visited H.H 17th Karmapa, who had advised Chinese people wherever they are in the world should revere and pray to Guan Gong for protection, to ward off evil, for wealth and loyalty.

In July 2008, TDSPJ conducted the first Guan Gong Puja in Vajrayana tradition in Malaysia led by H.E Thrangu Rinpoche. The prayer to Guan Gong in Tibet by Karma Kagyu lineage can be traced back to the time of the 5th Karmapa. TDSPJ constructed a Guan Gong pavilion at the Centre with a life size statue of Guan Gong from China. TDSPJ also fabricated the replica of the Guan Gong sword, The Green Dragon Seven Stars Crescent Moon Guandao, in accordance with the records in design, size and weight. The consecration was performed by H.E Lodro Nyima Rinpoche.

Since then TDSPJ conducts Prayers and Offerings to Guan Gong every year on his birthday (24th of 6th Lunar month).
With the current economic downturn caused by the covid-19 pandemic and many turbulent events and sufferings encountered in the world, there is a greater need to pray to Guan Gong for protection and to improve our well-being in business, health and luck.
