Announcement to private sponsors of Monks
Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters.
I appeal to all kind private sponsors of Monks to visit Malaysia to refrain from sending your sponsored monk to stay at the Centre for howsoever days or nights without informing any members of the committee nor our Resident Lama.
Whilst we empathise with the monk and welcome members of the Sangha to stay at the Centre, please understand it causes logistics problems for the monks and the housekeeping sub commitee who are answerable to the main committee. We have put in plans to provide meals and transport for monks and visiting monks at our centre.
We do not want to be accused and we indeed had in the past years received complaints for not caring for the monk whilst he is in our centre and we failed to make provisions for meals.
Neither is it pleasant for the sponsor to just walk into the centre to take his sponsored monk out for meals without offering and or ignoring the other monks who are at the Centre.
Please exercise wisdom and respect. Please understand since I took over the the presidency I have created the welfare and housekeeping subcommittees for monks and visiting Sanghas respectively. They are answerable to me and the committee. The least these kind hearted sponsors who having had invited the monks to visit Malaysia and could not for whatever reasons house the monk and wish to place them in our centre please at least have the courtesy to inform any members of the committee or our Resident lama so that arrangements be made with the housekeeping sub committee.
We ask for your respect to the committee who have worked so hard to ensure the smooth functioning of TDSPJ.
We seek your cooperation and kind understanding.
President. TDSPJ.
